Police application for revocation of premises licence resisted
Very happy for my client who has successfully resisted a rather peremptory application by Hampshire Police for seeking revocation of his premises licence at Plush the largest late hours lounge bar in Basingstoke. This was brought under review procedures in the Licensing Act 2003. The police application was entirely disproportionate against an operator with impeccable standards and an unblemished record over 30 years in the town and elsewhere. The premises licence activities, hours, capacity and DPS were all left untouched after a lengthy hearing in front of the licensing committee who reviewed all the evidence with great care.
